By developing a self sustaining enterprise, GO Local Food ambition is to be part of the local economy. As the co-op has grown it has also developed a range of benefits for it’s members; workshops and social events, the plastic free refill zone, and field sales.
The refill zone goes from strength to strength. Members bring their empty containers and fill up on a range of eco friendly household or body care goods at very competitive prices – you’d not believe how much washing up, and laundry liquid we shift!
Equally well used are our Field Sales. In addition to a range of SUMA foods, from chopped tomatoes to chocolate spread, we support a range of local producers, displaying their goods on our shelves
A recent addition all the way from High Spen is Handmade by Nature. We’re testing their products with our members (soaps, body butter, lip balm – all smelling very lovely).
And as it’s getting close to the end of the year and… we have been busy putting together this years Christmas Bundle. All the tried and tested favourites, with a new addition, vegan chease from Tyne Chease, just around the corner from our Ovington Fields. Take a look and place your order before Dec 2nd.
