Mega Production

Loads of veg!

We have just updated our production figures and are amazed by the result.  We had thought this year we would produce @ 8 tons of veg.  Over the last 11 months we have grown – and therefore harvested and consumed – 8.65 tons! This compares to 5.94 tons over the whole (12 months) of 2019.

So why the difference?  Ian tells us there are 3 factors to take into consideration.  First we have continued to improve the soil by adding a significant amount of manure, then (as all gardeners will know) weather wise we have had a very good year and finally we produced a fantastic brassica crop which means the size and weight of the cabbages has contributed to the tonnage reported.

We also think it has something to do with the hard work or our growers, workshares and volunteers!  A great result!
