Dawn(ish) on the fields

Our annual walk around the Ovington fields in May was as ever highly informative. Who knew collared doves were such loyal football supporters?

It was a beautiful morning and quite a warm one.  We were rewarded with coffee, juice and hot pastries for breakfast, courtesy of one of our members who lives locally.

We were very lucky to have not 1, but 2 sound recorders with us.  And Julie Bartley, Rolling Audio edited recordings into this very relaxing listen.

Our growers tell us of all the wildlife they spot on the fields. We have clearly created an attractive environment and now have a record of the birds we have seen and heard over the past 3 years.  Once again an impressive 23 are on our list.
