Welcome to our GO Local Food Christmas Bundle Offer for 2024 – our selection of local festive produce available to order and collect from our fields in Ovington.

Please place any orders by Saturday 30th November. Collection day this year is Mon 23rd Dec, 11am-12.30. Please ensure that you are able to collect your order at this time or someone is able to pick it up on your behalf.

Producer Information

Turkey: Moss Peteral Farm, Brampton Our bronze turkeys are supplied by Moss Peteral Farm. Animal welfare, the environment and community are central to the farm's ethos. The turkey chicks spend the first month of their lives in the shed, with additional heat, but then range far and wide, foraging in the field margins, keeping healthy and growing well. For the past couple of years they were able to source a soy-free diet but this is no longer available. The feed they are purchasing this year does include soya but this is only sourced from producers who can prove, via satellite imagery, that their land had not been cleared for at least 20 years. This feed is cheaper and has allowed us to reduce our prices this year. Your turkey will be supplied oven-ready with giblets and a cooking guide.
Puddings: Proof of the Pudding, Alnwick Proof of the Pudding traditional award winning puddings genuinely handmade in Alnwick, made in small batches, using local free range eggs, dairy products and finest ingredients..
Chutney and Jams: Northumbrian Pantry, Simonburn, Hexham Situated in the North Tyne Valley of Simonburn, Northumbrian Pantry create the highest quality jams, jellies, chutneys and relishes. Traditionally cooked by hand in small batches.
Cheese: Weardale Cheese, Crook, County Durham Based at the old workshops at Harperley Prisoner of War Camp, Weardale Cheese occupies a truly unique location at the entrance to beautiful Weardale in Co. Durham and offers a range of hard and semi-soft artisan cheeses, sourcing milk from local farms.
Apple juice, Kylbride Conserves Bridget and Ian grow and forage local fruit, veg and herbs in and around their smallholding to make into small batch preserves and juice that showcase the great flavour of seasonal ingredients.
Chocolates - Davenports Chocolates, Gateshead Davenports is a niche artisan company. The multi-skilled team are passionate about chocolate and the driving force for gift boxes of handcrafted chocolates enjoyed by many a discerning chocolate lover, up and down the UK.
Honey and Beeswax Candles – Jola, Corbridge Honey Made by Jola a 3rd generation beekeeper. Local honey collected by organically raised Northern Black British bees. 'The distinct flavour of runny honey reflects the forage on local meadows. However, the most valued, rare, fragrant honey is heather honey collected at the end of the season by bees travelling in my car to heather on the moors. As this honey cannot be spun out from the comb (thixotropic), it is available as cut comb or separated from wax (jar). It makes perfect Christmas gift to be used on toast, porridge, ice cream or Cranachan dessert.'
Scented Candles – Durham Soap Company, Lanchester Durham Soap Company was established in 2018 after Julie retired from a long career in the NHS. Cheese Biscuits – Doddingtons Dairy, Northumberland The Doddington Dairy is situated on their family farm, nestled at the bottom of the Cheviot Hills in the Glendale Valley of Northumberland. Producers of quality milk, ice cream and cheese.
