Sue Seymour and Moss Peteral Farm, has been supplying our members with beef and turkeys for a good few years now. Always great feedback on the meat! We also know that Sue and Alan are enthusiastic advocates for farming with nature, protecting the environment, taking their role as stewards of the land seriously. We were quickly over subscribed for the first visit – Sue has offered us a second tour with lunch… Another chance to find out more

Moss Peteral is a 1000 acre farm in Northumberland National Park.  Sandwiched between Hadrian’s Wall and Kielder forest the land includes The Wou, a wetland of international importance, and is grazed by a Pasture for Life certified herd of White Galloway cattle.

“Moss Peteral Farm visit was fantastic – everyone really enjoyed it – we learned so much on many fronts. Sure is a brilliant host and guide. Lunch delicious. You will really enjoy it!” Richard Raistrick, Workshare and Director

“A brilliant day out. An informative and worthwhile visit. If you are interested in how we produce good food whilst looking after the environment – you’ll be as fascinated as I was” Mandy Roberts, Northumberland National Park, Engagement Officer, and one of our members.

Visit includes:

  • Introductory chat about the farm, its special peatland habitats, and an insight into how we farm to support biodiversity and sequester carbon.
  • Guided walk – it’s only about a mile but the ground is rough and wet.  It’s quite hard going and a fair level of fitness is required.
  • Refreshments – taste our home produced beef with alternatives for the veggie/vegans amongst us.
