In a nutshell

GO Local Food is a community-run co-operative, based in Northumberland’s beautiful Tyne Valley, growing a wide range of amazing vegetables all year round.

We are entirely volunteer run and produce and distribute good quality local, seasonal produce, whilst looking after the environment.  This alternative model of food production, importantly, also restores the connection between local people and the food they eat and feed their families, creating a food community!

Becoming a member not only means you will be supporting the development of our co-operative, but you also have opportunities to join in!

Chemical free

Chemical-free and hand-grown with love in Northumberland’s beautiful Tyne Valley.

Over 50 varieties

A huge range of delicious vegetables from the everyday to the unusual.

Join in!

Be part of our fun and supportive community, meeting like-minded people.  As a co-operative all of our members are valued.  It is up to you how much or little you would like to get involved, but there is a place for everyone to come and share their skills and knowledge and get involved in discussion and decision making about our future direction and developments.

We also run a programme of events and workshops throughout the year, with discounted rates for members.

Help your local environment

Support us in providing a sustainable lifestyle choice to our community, an alternative way to view and obtain your food.  You can eat seasonally, reducing your carbon footprint and food miles, whilst enabling others to do the same. Small, individual actions matter and collectively we can come together to show we can make a difference.

You can benefit directly from fresh, locally grown seasonal produce without the use of fertilisers, pesticides or plastic packaging.  We also have refills of popular household products available for members, never buy another plastic bottle for washing up liquid or body wash again!

Choose change

Demonstrating that we can make a difference to our environment with the choices we make. As well as seasonal veg, we have a refill zone.

Taking part

It's not all about veg! We run an annual programme of events and workshops open to everyone, with member discounts.

Community-driven

Owned and run entirely by the members. Everyone has an equal say in decisions we make.

Cook

As a member you have the option to take out a subscription for a weekly share of the crops we grow, in one of 3 sizes. You can collect your own veg straight from the fields in which it is grown. Sign up to our crop share subscription and receive your first two weeks FREE!

If you need a range of other ingredients to compliment your veggies, members have the opportunity to place individual orders monthly with SUMA, the organic wholesale suppliers.

Grow

See how your food is grown before it makes its way to your plate.  Everyone is welcome, if you would like to be involved in growing or harvesting, whether you have experience to offer or would like to to learn.  Many hands make light work!

As a member of GO Local Food, these are your fields and there are always opportunities to connect, both to the land and socially, with other members.
